One of the UFC’s most marketable stars will be back in the Octagon soon.
With her combination of looks, personality and relentlessness in the cage, VanZant (5-1) has stormed onto the scene as a potential superstar in the UFC’s women’s strawweight division. She has won both of her UFC fights fairly easily and is coming off a dominant, unanimous decision win over veteran Felice Herrig. VanZant, still just 21, already has an individual deal with Reebok among countless other sponsorships.
Chambers (5-2), an alum of The Ultimate Fighter 20, is fresh off a huge, comeback win over Kailin Curran in May. Curran was winning the entire fight until Chambers rallied with an armbar in the third round. The 36-year-old Aussie fell to Aisling Daly at the TUF 20 Finale in her UFC debut. She lost in the first round of the TUF 20 tournament to Rose Namajunas.
UFC 191 does not yet have a headliner. VanZant-Chambers could very well be on the main card, since VanZant’s fight with Felice Herrig made the UFC on FOX 15 main card in April.
